In 2021, my partner and I bought a home and set out to turn our walk-out basement into a short-term rental — soundproofed, fully renovated, and designed to feel like a home away from home rather than a generic listing.
Before we could welcome our first guest, the space needed an identity. Digging into our neighborhood's history, I found we lived in an area known for its oak trees — and with how much wood we'd used throughout the finishes, The Oak Suite was born. Our slogan, "We built this space for you," set the tone for everything that followed: every design decision, every amenity, every detail was chosen with the guest experience in mind.

What we built:

• A full brand identity — name, logo, and visual direction — grounded in the story of the space itself
• Professional photography that matches the real space — guests consistently tell us it looks exactly like the photos when they arrive
• A guest experience system, from fully stocked breakfast and snack baskets to bathroom essentials most listings forget — built from my own experience as a traveler, thinking through what I'd want waiting for me
• Print materials and listing copy designed to set expectations and build trust before a guest ever walks in
