In 2021, my partner and I bought a home, and decided to create a short term rental with out walk about basement. We fully renovated the space, installing sound proofing, and creating a layout that felt cozy, yet open and welcoming. Through the entire process we chose how the space would look, feel, sound, smell, etc. Our goal was to create a space that had all the creature comforts of home, so we can welcome guests from all over the world.
Before we launched the business, a name needed to be created. Back to the research board, I discovered that we live in an area known as Upper Ten Oaks, and with how much wood we used to finish the space, The Oak Suite, was born. Our slogan "We build this space for you" tells our guests that everything we've done is with them in mind, ultimately creating an incredible experience for them to stay in our place.
Our customer experience starts with our Airbnb & VRBO listings, making sure to note as many details as possible, as well as photograph the space so it looks just like the pictures when they arrive (a comment we get frequently). Once our listing was set up, we turned to how we can make our guests feel welcome. This includes things like including breakfast items, eggs and milk in the fridge, and a full snack basket with cereal, oatmeal, breakfast bars, chips, popcorn and of course a sweet treat. Also including basics like soap, shampoo + conditioner, a toothbrush and toothpaste in the bathroom. I took my own experience travelling, and made sure that anything I have ever needed was included in our space.
I believe everyone deserves to be free and comfortable to be themselves unapologetically.
I support all types of love, genders and colors. This is a safe and open place to create.
