Managed by the BCIT Forest Society to sustainably monitor the forest, water, and wildlife, Woodlot 0007 is both a beautiful setting and an outdoor classroom. With the Trans Canada Trail passing through the woodlot, the area is popular with hikers, mountain bikers, and wildlife enthusiasts.
But weddings?
You’ll find the Learning Centre, a cozy and spacious hall, just a short drive from the well-maintained gravel road.
The venue is available for conferences, retreats, and yes – weddings!
With a capacity of up to 60 people, a meeting and dining space, and a large patio, the Learning Centre at Woodlot 0007 is warm and inviting with that log cabin feel.
A Sweet Forest Ceremony
There are plenty of beautiful options for your ceremony.
You could exchange your vows outdoors by the pond, inside in front of the stone fireplace, or on the beautiful deck overlooking the forest. My personal recommendation?
A ceremony in a quiet, peaceful clearing among the trees, the ferns, and the moss-covered logs with sunlight filtering through the forest canopy.
They even have pretty benches for your forest wedding ceremony.
Intimate, Timeless Magic
For your reception, you can utilize the Learning Centre’s banquet hall, as well as the patio overlooking the forest.
While the banquet hall comes with tables and chairs which you’re welcome to use, I’d recommend you use your imagination and style the space to your heart’s desire with rented chairs and linens.
The venue has a fully equipped kitchen for catering, as well as two bathrooms for guests.
How about a long table reception dinner outdoors, under a tent with plenty of fairy lights?
Peaceful Simplicity
You’ll have access to the property from 5 pm the day before the wedding for setup and rehearsal, and you have until 12 noon the day after the wedding for clean up and take down. Plenty of time to enjoy your magical forest wedding.
Oh, and another great feature about this wedding venue?
You and your guests can camp here!
