Having children in minor sports has lead me to participate with our local softball program, Abbotsford Minor Fastball Association . I started as a coach for my daughters U11 team, and i'm now a sitting member of the executive team, as the Manager of Apparel. The association only had a handful of basic t shirts with their logo on it, hoodies etc, and I really wanted to create something that brought community together. The Abbotsford Minor Fastball Association has 5 core values, and while players are reminded of this, it's something parents could be a part of, and this is where the Softball Social Club came in.
It started as a merch brand, and is now transforming into a movement.
My biggest challenge was convincing our team members to allow me to spend the money to produce the product. It's a risky move, but thankfully we work with an amazing screen printer that allowed us to do pre order. However, this prompted a bigger challenge, because we weren't able to see the print and garment in person prior to placing a large order. Good news is, it paid off, and has been a HUGE hit since we launched. ALL THE PROCEEDS GO BACK INTO SOFTBALL
