I often find myself drawn to working outside, and living in British Columbia, I feel incredibly lucky to have such a beautiful place right at my finger tips
My very good friend Nikki and I have worked together on and off for a few years; we met at a creative conference and then stayed in touch until I convinced her and her partner to model for a steamy couples photoshoot. They leaped and trusted me, and have been getting in front of my camera ever since.
Nikki is a multi-talented human, and one of her beautiful gifts is helping care for others’ mental health. A counsellor herself, she took everything she knows in the therapy world and created a digital space to allow access to affordable mental health resources. It’s called The Wellness Club

Nikki came to me in the spring with an idea to create images around being vulnerable and connecting to yourself. She had discovered a private naturist area in the Fraser Valley, that would allow her to be naked in nature, and connect herself back to mother earth. We hiked to the location and spent the entire time laughing, crying, and creating this incredible ART that told her story.
These are the moments in my career as a photographer that stop me in my tracks. The moments I sit in awe of the art, and the proud feeling that comes with holding space for another human being to express themselves in whatever way feels most like them. It’s fucking beautiful, and i’m beyond proud of the work we have done together.
